This English translation is provided for convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails. Japanese version: 利用規約

Introduction (Key Points)

The formal text of the Terms follows below. As long as you observe the four points above, ordinary use of the App should not give rise to any problems.

Article 1 (Application)

  1. These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the application “TryOn” (the version for iPhone distributed on the App Store (the “iOS version”) and the version for Android distributed on Google Play (the “Android version”); collectively, the “App”) and the services incidental to it (collectively with the App, the “Service”), which are provided by the TryOn Operations Team (“we”, “us” or “our”).
  2. Unless “iOS version” or “Android version” is specified, these Terms apply to both. References to versions in these Terms refer to versions of the iOS version. The Android version has been available since version 2.4.0, and statements about “version 2.4 or later” apply to it.
  3. By using the Service, you (the “User”) are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
  4. Individual notices and guidelines that we post in the App or on our website form part of these Terms.

Article 2 (Definitions)

Registered Photos Photos of a person (front full-body, upper-body, and other angles) that the User has taken with the App’s camera or selected from the device’s photo library, and registered in the App.
Clothing Images Images of clothing and similar items that the User has imported into the App as items to try on.
Generated Content Images created by generative AI based on Registered Photos and Clothing Images.
Credits Units, usable only within the Service, that are required to create Generated Content.

Article 3 (Account)

  1. The Service can be used without registering an account (App version 2.3 or later). In this case, the User is identified by an identification code that the App creates on the device (it is not synchronized outside the device).
  2. The User may optionally sign in through “Sign in with Apple”, provided by Apple, in the iOS version, or through “Sign in with Google”, provided by Google, in the Android version. Signing in transfers the Credits and plan on that device to the Apple or Google account so that they can be used on other devices signed in to the same account. We use only the identifier provided by Apple or Google and do not store your name or email address. The iOS version 2.2 or earlier requires signing in.
  3. Accounts in the iOS version and accounts in the Android version are separate accounts. Credits and plans cannot be carried over between the iOS version and the Android version. A paid plan purchased on the App Store cannot be used in the Android version, and a paid plan purchased on Google Play cannot be used in the iOS version.
  4. If the User uses the Service without signing in, the remaining Credits may not be carried over when the device is reset or replaced. A paid plan can continue to be used on another device through “Restore Purchases” in the App (only if the App Store or Google Play on that device uses the Apple account (iOS version) or Google account (Android version) used for the purchase; in this case, the plan and the remaining Credits for the current month move to the account used on the device on which the restore is performed).
  5. The User shall manage his or her Apple account, Google account and devices at his or her own responsibility.

Article 4 (Credits and Fees)

4-1. Granting of Credits

  1. Upon first registration, 3 free Credits are granted. Free Credits are not reset monthly.
  2. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Credits are granted every month according to the plan.
  3. Additional Credit packs may be purchased only by Users who are subscribed to a paid plan.
  4. A Single (4 Credits, equivalent to one try-on and one Fit Report) may be purchased whether or not you are subscribed to a paid plan (App version 2.3 or later).
PlanPrice (tax included)Credits granted
FreeJPY 03 (first registration only)
Lite (monthly)JPY 780 / month90 every month
Standard (monthly)JPY 1,980 / month220 every month
Lite (annual)JPY 7,800 / year90 every month
Standard (annual)JPY 19,800 / year220 every month
Additional packJPY 48050 (per purchase)
SingleJPY 2004 (per purchase)
Pro (monthly)JPY 9,000 / monthNone (up to 100 images a day without consuming Credits, as set out in 4-5)

The prices above are the prices in Japan (the same in the iOS and Android versions). In other countries and regions, prices are shown in local currency in the App Store or Google Play and are charged by Apple or Google.

  1. The fee for an annual plan is paid in a single lump sum for one year. As with monthly plans, Credits are granted every month, counted from the date of subscription.
  2. Launch bonus: If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time within 48 hours of your first registration in the App, a one-time bonus of 5 Credits (for a monthly plan) or 100 Credits (for an annual plan) is granted in addition to the regular grant. Bonus Credits are not subject to the monthly reset or to expiration upon the end of the paid plan period. The deadline is calculated by our server from the date and time of your first registration, and the remaining time is shown in the App.
  3. Invite a friend (App version 2.3 or later): If an invited User enters an invite code within 7 days of their first registration in the App and then succeeds in generating an image for the first time, 5 Credits are granted to both the invited User and the inviting User. Each User may enter an invite code only once. Grants to an inviting User are limited to 20 invitations per calendar month (UTC); beyond that, Credits are granted only to the invited User. Invite bonus Credits are not subject to the monthly reset or to expiration upon the end of the paid plan period.
  4. Promo codes: Promo codes that we distribute in campaigns and the like (Apple offer codes in the iOS version; Google Play promo codes in the Android version) can be redeemed on the App Store or Google Play through “Redeem promo code” in the App or through a link we provide. The paid plan or Credits redeemed are granted to the account using the App on the device on which the code was redeemed. The content, eligibility, expiration and number of uses of each code are set and announced by us for each code. The redemption procedure and conditions follow Apple’s or Google’s rules. After a free or discounted subscription period ends, the subscription renews automatically at the regular price unless canceled (Article 5).

4-2. Consumption of Credits

  1. Each generated image consumes 1 Credit. However, if “High Quality” is selected in version 2.1 of the App, each image consumes 2 Credits (from version 2.2 onward, there is no quality selection and every image consumes 1 Credit).
  2. For outfits (outerwear, tops, bottoms, hats, glasses, gloves, shoes and accessories), an image consumes 1 Credit if the outfit combines up to 4 items, and 2 Credits if it combines 5 or more items (version 2.2 and later). In version 2.1 and earlier of the App, the preceding item applies regardless of the number of items. The number of Credits to be consumed is always shown on screen before execution.
  3. When comparing 2 to 3 candidate items for the same body area in Compare mode, Credits are consumed for the number of images generated (2 to 3; 4 to 6 with High Quality in version 2.1). The number of Credits to be consumed is always shown on screen before execution.
  4. There is no difference in Credit consumption between output types (one full-body image / one multi-angle image).
  5. Regeneration under the same conditions may be performed once per generation result, for 1 Credit.
  6. A Fit Report (似合う診断レポート; a feature that summarizes a score, a review and suggestions of clothing to pair, based on a try-on result, in a single image; available in version 2.2 and later of the App) consumes 3 Credits each time. No Credits are consumed when viewing a report that has already been created.

4-3. Carry-over and Expiration of Credits

  1. Plan Credits granted every month do not carry over to the following month.
  2. Credits purchased in additional packs carry over, but expire when the paid plan period ends without renewal. They do not expire at the time the cancellation procedure is carried out, and may be used until the end of the current period, as set out in Article 5, paragraph 4.
  3. Credits purchased as a Single carry over and do not expire upon the end of the paid plan period.
  4. Credits cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded, or transferred between Users.

4-4. Failed Generation

If no image is obtained due to a communication error, a refusal by the generative AI to produce output, or a similar cause, the Credits consumed are automatically refunded in full. No request from the User is required.

4-5. Pro Plan

  1. While subscribed to the Pro plan (App version 2.3 or later), no Credits are consumed for try-ons (including outfits and comparisons) or for creating Fit Reports.
  2. Generation is limited to 100 images per day (from midnight to midnight, Japan time). A Fit Report counts as 3 images, a comparison counts as the number of images generated, and an outfit combining 5 or more items counts as 2 images per image. When the limit is reached, the plan can be used again from midnight (Japan time) the next day. Failed generations are not counted.
  3. To prevent abuse and excessive load, only one generation can run at a time. Generation may also be temporarily limited due to congestion of the Service as a whole.
  4. The price per image shown in the App is an estimate based on generating 100 images every day for 30 days.
  5. To operate this plan and review its limits, we aggregate the number of uses per user in a form that does not directly identify the user.

Article 5 (Subscription Payment, Renewal and Cancellation)

  1. All payments for paid plans, additional packs and Singles of the Service are made through the Apple App Store in the iOS version and through Google Play in the Android version.
  2. Subscriptions renew automatically as follows.
    • iOS version (App Store): Subscriptions renew automatically with the same content and at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal fee is charged to your Apple account within the 24 hours before the end of the period.
    • Android version (Google Play): Subscriptions renew automatically with the same content and at the same price unless cancelled before the next renewal date, and the renewal fee is charged to the payment method set in your Google account. The timing and method of charging follow Google Play’s rules.
  3. You may cancel at any time as follows. We cannot carry out the cancellation procedure on your behalf.
    • iOS version: “Manage or cancel subscription” in the App’s Settings, or the iPhone “Settings” app > your Apple account > “Subscriptions”
    • Android version: “Manage or cancel subscription” in the App’s Settings, or the Google Play app > your profile icon > “Payments & subscriptions” > “Subscriptions”
  4. Cancellation takes effect from the next renewal date, and no prorated refund is given. You may continue to use the Service for the remainder of the current period.
  5. Refunds after purchase are subject to the rules and procedures established by Apple for the iOS version and by Google for the Android version.
  6. Deleting your account in the App does not automatically cancel your subscription. Please cancel it by the methods in paragraph 3 of this Article before deleting your account.
  7. If we change our fees, we will announce the change in advance in the App or on our website.

Article 6 (Rules Concerning Registered Photos)

This Article is an essential provision that goes to the core of the Service. If a violation is confirmed, we may suspend provision of the Service without prior notice.

  1. The User may register as Registered Photos only photos that show the User himself or herself, or a person who has given permission for the photo to be taken and used. The User must not register photos of any other person without that person’s permission.
  2. The User must not use images that show any person under 18 years of age in the Service, whether as Registered Photos or as Clothing Images.
  3. Registered Photos are taken with the App’s camera or selected from the device’s photo library. When selecting from the photo library, the User shall confirm, following the confirmation shown before selection, that the photo meets the conditions in the preceding paragraph.
  4. For Clothing Images, please use images that the User is legitimately entitled to use (such as images the User has taken personally or images whose use has been licensed). Please obtain the store’s permission before taking photos inside a store.

Article 6-2 (Consent to Sending of Images and Use of Generative AI)

  1. Generating try-on images and creating Fit Reports require that Registered Photos, Clothing Images and related images be sent, via our server (Google Cloud Platform, region in Japan), to the following generative AI services. By executing a generation, the User is deemed to have consented to this sending. However, images are sent to the OpenAI API only if, in addition, the User has reviewed the destination and given consent on a confirmation screen shown once in the App before first use.
    • “OpenAI API” provided by OpenAI: all generations and Fit Reports in version 2.2 and later (the Fit Report is a feature of version 2.2 and later), and cases in which High Quality is selected in version 2.1. For a Fit Report, in addition to Registered Photos, try-on images and images of the clothing tried on, images of clothing saved in your wardrobe (up to 12 items) are also sent for the purpose of the diagnosis.
    • “Gemini API” provided by Google LLC: Standard quality in version 2.1 and earlier, and as a backup in version 2.2 and later when the OpenAI API is temporarily unavailable.
  2. Our server does not store the images sent and discards them immediately after processing. The handling of images by Google LLC and OpenAI (including temporary retention for abuse monitoring and processing outside Japan) is governed by each company’s terms and privacy policy. For details, please see Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
  3. If you do not consent to the sending described in paragraph 1, the generation features cannot be used (features that do not involve sending, such as viewing and deleting Registered Photos, remain available).

Article 7 (Handling of Generated Content)

  1. Generated Content (including Fit Report images) and Registered Photos are stored only on the User’s device and are not stored on our servers. We do not store or view Generated Content.
  2. We do not assert any rights in Generated Content against the User. However, this does not affect any rights held by third parties in the designs of the clothing or other materials on which the Generated Content is based.
  3. The User must not use Generated Content for the purpose of harming the reputation, credit, privacy or other rights of any third party.
  4. Generated Content is an estimate produced by generative AI and does not guarantee how the clothing will actually look when worn, or its fit, color or texture. Please do not rely solely on Generated Content in making purchase decisions; such decisions are made at the User’s own responsibility.
  5. In Generated Content, the facial features, body shape and background of the Registered Photos will change to some extent. Because generative AI redraws the person, the result will not look completely identical to the original photo.
  6. If Generated Content contains inappropriate content, the User can report it to us through “Report a problem” on the result screen of the App (only in versions of the App that support this feature; otherwise, please contact us at the contact point in Article 16). We review reports and use them in measures to prevent inappropriate Generated Content.

Article 8 (Prohibited Acts)

In using the Service, the User must not engage in any of the following acts:

  1. Acts that violate the rules concerning Registered Photos set out in Article 6
  2. Acts that violate laws and regulations or public order and morals
  3. Acts related to criminal activity
  4. Impersonating another person, or infringing the rights of others
  5. Attempting to create, through the Service, images containing sexual content or other offensive images
  6. Placing an excessive load on the servers or network of the Service, and sending large volumes of requests by automated means
  7. Exploiting defects in the Service to obtain or use Credits improperly
  8. Improperly obtaining free Credits or invite bonuses by creating multiple accounts, repeatedly deleting and re-registering an account, or similar means
  9. Reverse engineering or decompiling the App, or otherwise attempting to analyze its source code
  10. Interfering with the operation of the Service
  11. Any other act that we reasonably determine to be inappropriate

Article 9 (Suspension of Use)

If we reasonably determine that a User has violated these Terms, we may suspend provision of all or part of the Service without prior notice. In such a case, we shall not be liable for any damage incurred by the User. However, we will handle any unused Credits in good faith to the extent permitted by law.

Article 10 (Changes to, Interruption and Termination of the Service)

  1. We may change the content of the Service or interrupt its provision without prior notice to Users.
  2. Provision of the Service may be temporarily interrupted due to system maintenance, failures of external services, natural disasters or other unavoidable circumstances.
  3. If we terminate the Service, we will announce this in advance to the extent possible.

Article 11 (Disclaimer)

  1. We do not guarantee that the Service will be fit for any particular purpose of the User, will have the quality or accuracy the User expects, or will be available at all times.
  2. We shall not be liable for any damage incurred by the User in connection with the Service, except where such damage is caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
  3. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, where our liability cannot be excluded under the Consumer Contract Act of Japan or other laws and regulations, the scope of damages for which we are liable shall be limited to the amount paid by the User to us during the 12 months preceding the time at which the damage occurred.
  4. Registered Photos and Generated Content stored on the User’s device may be lost due to device failure or loss, deletion of the App, or similar causes. We do not hold this data and cannot restore it.
  5. Part of the Service uses generative AI services provided by Google LLC and OpenAI. Changes to the specifications of, or interruptions of, those services may result in changes to or interruption of the Service.

Article 12 (Intellectual Property Rights)

All intellectual property rights in the programs, designs, text, trademarks and all other materials constituting the App and the Service belong to us or to the legitimate rights holders.

Article 13 (Changes to These Terms)

  1. We may change these Terms when we determine it to be necessary.
  2. When we change these Terms, we will make the revised content and its effective date known by posting on this website or by other appropriate means.
  3. When we make a change that has a significant impact on Users, we will make it known a reasonable period before its effective date.

Article 14 (Severability)

Even if any provision of these Terms, or any part thereof, is held invalid or unenforceable under laws and regulations, the remaining parts shall continue in full force and effect.

Article 15 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
  2. Any dispute arising between us and a User in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
